Privacy policy

This policy explains how Barbod Studio handles the personal information you share when you contact me through this website, by phone, text or email. Barbod Studio is run by Barbod, a sole proprietor in New Brunswick. I keep it simple: I only collect what I need to answer you, and I never sell it.
What I collect
When you send the free-consultation form, I receive:
- your name;
- your phone number and/or your email address (you choose);
- your message, if you write one;
- the language of the page you used (English or French), and the date and time.
When you call, text or email me, I receive what you send and your phone number or email address.
I don't ask for anything else, and I don't collect sensitive information such as payment card or health details through this website. Please don't include them in your message.
Why I use it
Only to reply to you: to set up and hold your free consultation, answer your questions, send a quote if you ask for one and, if we work together, run your project.
I don't add you to a mailing list and I don't send you marketing emails or texts. If that ever changes, I will ask for your consent first, separately, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires.
Your consent
By sending the form or contacting me, you agree that I use your information as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to me. I will then stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires me to keep it.
Where it is kept and who helps me
I use a few trusted services to run this website and to receive your request. They process your information for me, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and checks the form for spam (Cloudflare Turnstile). To tell people from bots, Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser and device, such as your IP address, only for that check.
- Resend delivers your form to my email inbox.
- Google (Gmail and Google Sheets) is where I receive your request and keep a simple list of the people who contacted me, so nobody is forgotten.
These services may store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. There, it may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of that country.
How long I keep it
If we don't work together, I delete your information within 24 months of our last contact, or sooner if you ask.
If you become a client, I keep what is needed for your project and for my business records for as long as the law requires (for example, tax records are kept for six years), then I delete it.
How I protect it
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Your information is kept in accounts protected by strong passwords and two-step verification, and only I can see it. I don't share it with anyone except the services above, or if the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to see the information I have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to hello@barbodstudio.com or call or text +1 506-285-8583. I will answer within 30 days, at no cost.
If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is for business owners. It is not meant for children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
If I change this policy, I will update it here with a new date. For any question about your privacy, I am the person responsible: Barbod, Barbod Studio.
